The Grecian Garden

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?
Go to the Home page. On the bottom right is a button to make an appointment. You have the option of making an initial consult or a recheck appointment.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?
You can cancel the appointment through Bookeo by using the link in the confirmation email they sent you. You can also call the store to cancel at 850-912-6996. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with less than 24 hours or the day of your appointment there will be a $25 fee.

How much do appointments cost?
The first visit may last 90 minutes and costs $175, plus any supplements you need. Supplements are recommendations only without obligation to purchase. Recheck appointments are $60-$75 for 30-40 minutes. In rare cases, additional time is needed which incurs an additional charge.

Do you take insurance?
No, with the exception of FSA or HSA funds or Greensurance.

What if I have an issue between appointments?
If you have  questions regarding your protocol or supplements you may email me. Please do not call the store to ask your questions.

How long will it take me to get better?
This depends on how quickly you can integrate lifestyle changes and how long you’ve suffered with your condition. Because I put more emphasis on root causes than symptom management, I may need to work on one layer at a time as more problems are revealed. Some clients notice changes within a week of their first appointment.

What kind of supplements do you recommend?
Each client is on a different regimen. The primary modality to effect healthy changes is through the diet, but supplements speed up the process. This may include various herbs, bioidentical hormones, homeopathics, probiotic foods or nutraceuticals. I recommend professional grade supplements from the top companies in functional and natural medicine: Designs for Health, Standard Process, Seeking Health, Vital Nutrients, Klaire Labs, etc.

What if I run out of supplements?
Clients generally stay on supplements for 3-6 months. If you do not have an appointment with me scheduled for several months, it is a good idea to stay on your supplements. If you have an appointment coming up and you only have a few weeks left of a supplement bottle, do not purchase another one yet. Feel free to wait until your appointment as your supplement protocol may change.

Where do I purchase supplements?
Most supplements can be purchased at Old Thyme Remedies after your appointment. I do not keep all supplements in stock at all times and for this reason I use an online dispensary. I recommend calling Old Thyme Remedies to see if they have your supplements in stock before making a trip up there. If they are not in stock, you can email me and I can send you a link to purchase through Healthwave.

What is the best way to get a hold of Melanie?
Email. I try to respond to emails within 24 hours during the week. I generally take a break from emails during the weekend. I do not do emergencies. If you need emergency care seek the appropriate medical assistance.

Do you offer a concierge service?
No. Even through email, I am not available for questions unrelated to your care or for expert opinions on the latest health craze. I am trying to keep costs down and avoid charging by the minute as many practitioners do. Complex questions always require a recheck appointment rather than emailed answers.
